Day 5 – The final day
Only 25km left. This was our last day of this journey. We packed our tent and left Kuornarjoki behind us, where we had our last camp. Weather was quite good the whole day, cloudy and it rained just a little. First 10km of the day went easily. First uphill and then downhill to Saarijärvi which was the place where we stayed our first night. Now we just had a little lunch brake and after that we began our last leg to reach the finish. We hiked 15km without any big brakes. When we saw that Saanatunturi began to get closer we knew that there was not much left. Last downhill and we were back at the same parking lot where we started this adventure. Our Kilpisjärvi-Halti-Kilpisjärvi adventure was over. This was by far the toughest marked hiking route in Finland that we have ever hiked. We were really stoked that we got through 110km in 5 days with couple of rainy days. The feeling what you get in the wilderness and the feeling what you get when everything is over are those things that gets you to do this stuff. Loving it!
Here’s a picture of Saanatunturi which is located right next to Kilpisjärvi. The place where was our starting and finishing point of this trip. Even thought we saw beautiful fells like Saivaara and Meekonvaara I still think that Saanatunturi is the most beautiful fell in Finland. So if you are planning to visit in Finnish Lapland you really should go to Kilpisjärvi and check out the Saanatunturi!
Thank you for following! Hope you had some pleasure for your eyes and let me know if you need tips or something for your journey. Thanks!
